Abstract from the Case Study:

The case is based on a flourishing technology startup firm based in India. The case captures the issues faced by the firm on its growth trajectory w.r.t its organization and HR policies and practices. The HRM practices form the backbone of any organization’s growth and the case highlights this scenario. The organization started in 1994 by Mr. Rajesh with 4 other likeminded people having prior experience in developing and providing technology solutions witnesses rapid growth over two decades spanning two centuries. However, lack of focus on its manpower policies causes some serious set of talent issues in the organization which is impacting the organization’s growth and customer relations. The case captures what issues an organization faces when business growth strategy and HRM policies are not aligned. The case also encompasses OB issues of motivation, equity and interpersonal relations through the example of Mentor-Mentee relationship which turns sour due to the organization’s HRM policies. While the environment outside is conducive to growth, the organization grapples with its internal issues concerning its critical talent and customer relations.
